Whistleblowers generate More Than $300 Million Annually for US Treasury
An article in yesterday’s Austin (TX) Statesman provides an interesting compendium of facts and notable people in recent whistleblower cases. Among the statistics cited are the following:
- Proceeds from false claims cases have increase from less than $30 million in 1985 to more than $300 million last year
- Whistleblower action convinced the FBI to overhaul its lab due to unreliable results
- The Department of Energy realized it could not account for vast amounts of radioactive waste because of whistleblower actions
