US Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Whistle-blower Case
The Supreme Court agreed today to hear a Los Angeles case that will likely determine whether whistle-blowers in public agencies are protected to voice complaints by free speech provisions of the First Amendment. According to a Los Angeles Times article, a favorable decision could protect millions of public workers—including police officers, prosecutors, teachers and public hospital workers—from retaliation if they take their cause outside of their agencies.
